Edit the Windows Vista/windows 7 Boot Menu Options from Xp
yes I have Tested this !
Check out the REMOVING WINDOWS VISTA FROM YOUR SYSTEM
section of ourWindows Vista Build 5308 Installation Guideand particularly Point 3.
You will need to delete these files from your XP installation drive/partition (make sure view is set to show hidden files and folders and show protected operating system files):
$RECYCLE.BIN
Boot (folder)
Boot.BAK
bootmgr
BOOTSECT.BAK
Once those are deleteted - boot from your XP setup CD and at the first screen it stops select R to go to the recovery console. Type fixboot at the command prompt after you have selected your Windows installation.
NOTE that if you delete those files and do not run fixboot from the Recovery Console your system will not boot into Windows XP at all
